an ant's nest?

No. there must be a way of giving everyone the vote without all the trappings that are causing many of the problems we see today.
It would avoid a lot of corruption as well. The current system encourages corruption

Monarchy or dictatorship + sham referendum system. Everyone has an equal vote (worth zero) can propose laws or vote how you like (might end up disappearing though).Comment

Democracy as Aristotle understood it: every citizen forms an equal part of the government. All may take part in every vote.Originally posted by EternalOptimist View PostHere is the problem
Devise a system for democratic government
1 no parties
2 no politicians
3 no expenses
4 no elections
5 no political lobbying
6 everyone gets an equal vote
7 the beaurocracy/civil service does not have a new direction every 5 years
8 everyone gets a chance to propose law
9 everyone gets a chance to vote on new law

You asked for a system, not a practical mechanism.
Alternatively, the Tranai method: anyone who wants to accept the job of president can do so. Any citizen who disapproves of the president can register a negative vote. After a threshold of negative votes is reached, the president's head is automatically blown off.Step outside posh boyComment
