I've just recieved a mail to say that a formal communication will be sent out from the UK office this week, but the person I'm dealing with has no idea what it'll say.

Still : it´s money I worked for, it feels incorrect that that money should be used to settle part of a debt Albany may have with other parties. Only Albany´s part of that (their management fee) should be taken for that purpose. But I guess I´m being naive.
And then it all depends if this is full scale bankrupcy (I think it is) or if they manage to continue working somehow (I doubt it...unless some Big Investor jumps in and settles debts for them, which seems rather unlikely)
They are pretty much dead in the water without any contractors earning them fees every month.
The only remaining question is if the only issue is the bank pulling their credit line or if they have done something really bad and HMRC or someone are after them as well.

For those of you that have still not been paid by Albany / Mirasol.

One of my team has been paid for December, the other 3 have not.
Still no news from Mirasol, though the end of the link above suggests that everything appears to be lost unfortunately.

Official Communication from Albany
Just came through a few minutes ago:
Announcement from the Albany Group – 5 February 2010
As a result of the much publicised financial problems encountered by a number of UK companies within the Albany Group it has been regrettably decided to seek the early appointment of an Administrator to the following three companies.
Albany EMEA Ltd
Albany Employment Services Ltd
Albany Management UK Ltd
In view of the impending appointment of an Administrator, we are not in a position to make any payments to those individuals/companies owed money by any of the above named companies.
As soon as an Administrator has been appointed they will be in contact with all creditors and will respond to all claims for payment of outstanding moneys including those of unpaid wages.
In the meantime we would be grateful for your patience whilst waiting to be contacted. We also ask for your understanding that, if you do contact Albany, our directors and employees will not be able to provide any further information until an Administrator has been appointed.
On behalf of the Albany Group we sincerely and deeply apologise to everyone impacted by our current financial problems.
The Directors
