“I live with my partner, and I have MS. He is very dismissive of me, and our relationship has deteriorated badly. Every time I try to explain what it is like, I well up in tears and cannot speak.

    He doesn’t understand.

I showed him your video last night and he watched in stunned silence, and then hugged me. I feel I can talk now. Thank you so much”

I feel all warm and fuzzy
Oh Wow that's brilliant, you've helped make someones life better
That must be a great feeling
I'm sorry, but I'll make no apologies for this

      Hi BGG,

I just watched the video, I am very very sorry to hear that this has entered your life.

Watching the video, bought me down to earth and reminded me that any problems I think myself and my friends and family have, these problems are NOTHING compared to what you are going into.

The video makes me want to delete all of the noise and c r a p discussions from the CUK threads, because the things (and I chose with word 'things' carefully over other words such as issues, problems, challenges) being discussed here pale into insignificance compared to what is discussed in your video.

Wishing you all the best and all the luck in the world, my thoughts are with you.

      Milan.

        Cheers Milan.

It's a biaaitch but I count myself fortunate because there are many many others worse off than me.

Not that I did the video to moan about me, it was designed to demonstrate how MS impacts on everyone around the original sufferer. No one escapes unharmed and that's not right, to watch your families and friends suffer too.

As I said, it's "our illness", and we have to deal with that, but what really hurts the most is seeing it affect those we love too. We don't want to see you suffer as well. That's the real injustice.

I think I got that important message across.

        Cheers all.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

          What they all said.

And you can be sure that for every email you receive there will be hundreds more who will have watched the video and have taken away something positive from it.

Cheers Milan and Everyone else too !

You're all good sorts overall, and having met some of you IRL, I must admit, you weren't what I was expecting.

And on that rather enigmatic admission, I shall leave you be for the afternoon to carry on with the gentle admonishments of each other.

Play nice, and remember, vary your strokes and don't percuss the same spot over and over again.

So is there a charity that is funding research into the thing with lots of initials that look like Roman Numerals? (sorry - can't remember the name!)

I've forwarded the link to one of my old school chums who I recently found out had MS.

I'm meeting him for a beer(or two) in a couple of weeks so will see what he thinks of the vid.
