I like most fizzy drinks, tbh, apart from Tizer or Lilt.
Does anyone remember when MaccyD's first came to the UK, they used to sell "Root Beer" ?
Never seen it since.
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
When i was an art student in Cardiff, we used to drink sarsaparilla in coffee bars, never seen it since. Although I think it was a bit like dandelion & burdock.

Sainsbury's is selling Dr Pepper in 500ml bottles for £1.09, and 2l bottles for £1.00. Of course I'd heard rumours of recent craziness in the financial system, but this has really brought it home to me. Wasn't that roughly how Nick Leeson got started?

I always try and buy a pint of milk instead of a bottle of fizz when looking for a drink. Would always buy that organic stuff as I understand the cows are less intensively milked than 'standard' milk. It is a crying shame that milk is a loss leader in supermarkets.

Yes it is a shame. In my twenties I thought that a milk round would be a good Plan B. Fresh air, physical exercise and your own boss.
