I've got 2 meetings scheduled today but the place is completely and utterly deserted so don't know where all the other attendees are.

No doubt dialing in whilst preparing tomorrows 'Pigs in blankets'.

Suits me, can get more work done in the quiet.

Not me, my IM, email and phone are all buzzing. My off-shore teams are all working.

If it was a holiday then people would be saying "why do offices open on Christmas Eve eve?"

Monday is a day off too; WHY?
Official bank holiday for boxing day.

Pondlife Inc is fully operational today.

but there's a mutual understanding with the client that we won't contact each other for anything after lunchtime.

Offices open on Christmas Eve so the permies can play solitaire without wearing out the mouse on their home computer

I’ve just remembered. I have no punters today. All of ‘em have taken today off.

Two said they would be around next week, but won’t be doing much.
How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

It is so that the permies don't use up one of their precious days of annual leave.
