It's funny how many people would ideally want to live in the west country but choose to live in the south east.
I'm living the dream.Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave JohnsonComment

Lots of highly paid work in the SE.
If you don't need to look for highly paid work, why would you choose the SE?Comment

Dartmouth (S. Devon), or across the water in Kingsmere would do me. Big house high on the hill with lots of land and a boat moored in the harbour.
I'm not into shooting animals (I've tried and I cannot shoot straight), and I'm not into London socialising, and you can't ski here, so sailing would be the best pastime for me. With access to some lovely countryside and not too far across the channel I think South Devon would do me nicely.
If I was a bit older I could settle for a house with a river frontage with good fly fishing rights. Preferably Hampshire or Dorset.

Imagine you didn't need to work for an income and you could choose anywhere in the UK that you'd most like to live, where would it be and why?
Answers on a CUK postcard please.
