I'd go looking for that other £200 if I were you

Joint account. We are both free to spend what we like.

                Separate personal accounts.

The Missus had a joint account with her previous bloke; he cleaned it out when he left her on her pay day. Bastard.

So she insisted on separate accounts.

I don't care. All the bills come out of my account and all the 'luxuries' out of hers. I know exactly what I can do wth my a/c and she knows exactly how much she can take from hers. Every few weeks I top her account up.

However, the company accounts are accessible to both of us so if I go under a bus she can get the money out of the company.

Same happened with me - except he took the proceeds of the sale of the house.

I think your own personal accounts and a joint account for bills and savings is the way forward.

If you dont trust each other to have joint account, how can there be any trust in a relationship?

So yes, we have joint accounts.

We were discussing this many years ago with a client who was dead set against the idea of joint bank accounts.

He had the final word when he said:

"You, Gentlemen, do not have a French wife".
