BUT, he's going to spend an extra £31Bn next year on public sector, plus and extra £2.5Bn for Afghanistan.

No - I didn't catch whether it was for publicly owned banks, or for all banks.

Either way, £900k back on a £1m bonus isn't a bad claw back.

Banks may just defer such bonuses until next tax year when this "one off" measure presumably lapses or new Govt takes place...

              Sneaky NI increase slipped in.
How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

By then, there may be a chance to link bonus to success in the future? I guess that's the hope - introduce deferred bonuses linked to some degree of success.

That plus the cutback on NPfIT will mean all the hospital closures will stop and prescriptions can be made free.

Sorry, I wandered off into a little world of my own there...

Apparently, no one earning under £20,000 will pay any more NI contributions.

I was watching the report on the Number 10 website - which cut off as soon as Osbourne stood up.
