Nope, but the cost of living here is much lower than southern England. I stay in a reasonable hotel for e65 per night and can eat a very good 3 course meal with a few glasses of wine for 35 euros.Originally posted by OrangeHopper View PostAnd the client isn't picking up the expenses? And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? I remember the Dutch have a more realistic attitude to hotel room pricing.
Thanks everyone for you replies.Comment

Just don't stay in Amsterdam. Stay in Haarlem instead; 15 mins by train from the centre of Amsterdam, hotels and restaurants are half the price in any category, twice as good and not filled with British and Merkin druggies.Originally posted by OrangeHopper View PostI remember the Dutch have a more realistic attitude to hotel room pricing.

If you are staying in town, I can recommend the "Banks Mansion" near/on Heerengracht (sp?).
Especially If you like a drink - they have a free "maxi-bar" in every room and a sort of living room bar thing downstairs with freebies."See, you think I give a tulip. Wrong. In fact, while you talk, I'm thinking; How can I give less of a tulip? That's why I look interested."Comment

and if you get expenses you can't get the 30% rule. so you will need to load up the rate and then get the 30% rule.Originally posted by norrahe View Postyep! you front them yourself generally, unless you can convince them to shell out.Comment
