The naivety of some of these posts clearly shows why there has been an unending bashing of this project from within and without the IT community. If everyone understood the scale and complexity of the undertaking and shared the vision of what could be, then this discussion would not be about headline costs, but would instead focus on the healthcare of the nation and the injustice that scrapping the project would cause.
I completely agree that money has been wasted (IDX anyone!?) and things could have been managed better but the health of the nation should come first. Without a 21st century IT solution the NHS will not make it to the 22nd century...Comment
