I have been next to a crime being committed on many occasions but I never committed a crime. One person cut her throat.

Encouraging the action makes you party to the murder. In fact, not actively seeking to prevent it could also put you in the frame. Then there's aiding and abetting - what where you doing? Driving the getaway car?

Allowing a death through criminal behaviour is also murder in many countries.

And helping to clean up the mess, framing one guilty, trying to frame one completely innocent individual and changing your story many times doesn't help your case.....

from what I have read...the bit I don't get is these 3 people hardly knew each other - Knox and Sollecito 2 weeks, knox and Guede met once before, sollecito and Guede never met before the night of the murder.

yet they embarked on a sexual assult & murder...seemingly out of the blue.

I don't think that is a casual thing that just happens...
