I've just landed a maternity cover extension for a year, but I can't believe anyone would stay off that long so I'll probably be on my bike earlier.
You never know - my brother-in-law's first teaching job was maternity cover for one term. She never came back, and he was there for nine years.

Could be longer, I thought most women handed in their notice the day before they're due to return?
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

Are you going to any classes ?

I was there on and off for 2 years, but I worked with Americans so I didn't pick up much German.

I had a 12 week intensive evening class of 3hrs/wk and am about to go looking for a private tutor. gf chef is german and also a teacher but being taught a language by gf will only end up with a lot of slammed doors IMO. Work is an english speaking project and weekday evenings are spent with a landaner so I dont get as much practice in as I'd like

I have given up even thinking about learning another language, I was in Zurich for a few years and I was asked if I wanted to learn Swiss German.

I ask why would I want to learn a language that only has a 30 mile radius

You know what I mean, only used within a 30 mile radius of Zurich.

On the second Tuesday in March, with a herring.
