FFS, is that foul witch still allowed out?

When she finally dies, she'll be the first person whose gravestone reads "Licensed for dancing"

We gave lots of money to other countries to help them develop their economies (eg, the ones that used to be "pink" on the history maps, next to all the others that were also "pink", along with the Empire was which was "pink"), so that they could manufacture such goods decades later more cheaply than we can.

Apparently this is known as "progress".

It may well be. But it's certainly not ours.

Cheap goods are all well and good (actually, no, they aren't. They are tacky and fall to bits), but when the rest of the country is in a recession and there are fewer working to afford them, it doesn't matter anyway.
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

A Labourazi politcal broadcast. How nice.

Don't you see any parallels between now and then? Financial chaos, loony leaders, unemployment etc.?
I just find the whole Labour is bad, Tories are good m'ok (or the other way around) amusing and depressing in equal measure.
Mrs T.'s finest moment was her last day in the House of Commons - sheer genius.

The attitude of "The media are [opposed to those I support | supporting those I oppose]" is normally exhibited by stupid people, or by those employed to manipulate the opinions of stupid people. You should put it behind you before you turn into a farcical parody like Scruton.

By all means raise reasoned objections to individual instances that you perceive as biased, but don't take the blanket "They're all against us" approach. It isn't a good look.

Spitting Image was a satirical program of its time so it should come as no surprise that the Conservative government received the brunt of the mocking.

I don't recall them being too kind on Labour, the likes of Neil Kinnock or Arthur Scargill either so I don't think it was all one-sided.

Although from the clip, quite how Chernobyl could be blamed on the Tories I am not sure that I follow.....

I think a few manufacturers, Ford certainly did this, took some English cars to pieces to work out how they managed to make them so cheaply, and were left scratching their heads. In the end they realised each car was actually being sold at a significant loss.

                      Currently wearing this t-shirt

(in white though, with not too many food stains down it)
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.
