The amount of time and effort spent getting the legislation through was massive, I remember reading the figures at the time, it was the mark of a goverment who had no idea of where it's prioritys lay and yes, it did stink of getting one over the tofs. The police have given up policing the hunts as the law is simply unworkable, there will be tons of hunts going on where the dogs get the fox. Labour's dangerous dogs act.

But I like the idea that the Tories will repeal/amend the law to allow the hunts to get back out there doing their stuff

I really hate the class warriors like Brown and Harman et al.

Yeah and they should legalise Badger baiting. I know a lot of countryside folk who think the hunt is a menace.
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

Which does make one wonder why said foxes need to attempt to dig up that dead cat that I buried earlier in the year.

Must be really ripe by now.
Have you tried 'securing the perimeter' yet ??

99% of anti-fox hunt protesters are simply class warriors.

99% of fox hunters are only in it for the bloodsport. They are not in it for:
-- "improving the health of the fox population by removing the weak ones"
-- getting rid of urban foxes.

Neither side of the fox hunting debate are honest about their intentions IMO.

All the working class blood sports (cock fighting, dog fighting, etc.) were outlawed some time ago. The injustice is not the upper classes being singled out on this issue now, the injustice is that the same rules weren't applied fairly to all people to start with.
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

They cache their food as a hedge against hard times. I believe that is why they kill so much when they get in to a hen house - they plan to store the excess.

I haven't seen the aftermath of a fox attack but I'm sure you're right. However, we as supposed intelligent, rational creatures shouldn't be seeking to do the same back to them. Foxes are wild animals and behave as such, we are meant to be civilised and compasionate.

A fox will kill every animal in an enclosure (if it can) and eat just one of them.

If we were not here dogs would still be chasing them round ripping them to shreds, we are just managing that now which is much closer to nature than a total ban.

Anyway, I used to be a butcher and still find it odd that people are willing to eat battery chickens and their eggs by the dozen but go fruit loop when a dog kills a fox. It is a fashionable cause because it is getting one over the toffs. Labour used it to gain votes in the last election because they knew it is such an emotive subject.
