oop north is all the same for southerners. All bleak, all poor and all backward. Don't try to convince them otherwise; Upper Teesdale, Ribble Valley, the Vale of Lune and the Dales are imho already in danger of overpopulation with southerners and you don't need southerners making them even more expensive. Whatever you do, don't tell southerners about the quality of life oop north.

We were amazed about a dozen years ago when a group of southerners in a favourite Dales pub claimed they were locals. Nobody had ever seen them before, including the butcher, the baker and the postman. They must have done all their shopping in Sainsbury's a good 20 miles away and held dinner parties for their get togethers.
