          Orally is probably your best bet unless you got suppositories...

              I use the 500 mg paracetamol and 400 mg ibuprofen. I find that you will notice the difference within an half an hour, certainly an hour, so you should be able to gauge whether 200 mg does it for you.

              It is the ibuprofen that will ease your muscle problem. I only take the paracetamol because my neck problems give me the headaches, which is caused by the affected muscles tighten the scalp, and feel I should take the second does of 2 ibuprofen within 4 hours of the first.

              Be wary about ibuprofen. It doesn't suit everyone. My wife's arms showed lots of bruising when she followed my regime once.

                      Absolutely. Of course ibuprofen/diclofenac reduces the swelling. To increase the swelling I use Viagara.....
