EO - you're making an assumption too far with married man... it says person. I was assuming they were all facing in the same direction, in a line.
Jack > Anne > AndyW
If Jack=Married and AndyW=Unmarried, and Anne=Either Married or unmarried, then:
If Anne=Married:
J(M) > A(M) > AW (U)
Anne is looking at AndyW, so a married person is looking at an unmarried person.
If Anne=Unmarried:
J(M) > A(U) > AW (U)
Jack is looking at Anne, so, again, a married person is looking at an unmarried person.
