Wouldn't get that sloppy engineering with a Jap car

True, but I'd die of boredom looking at and driving it.

You're the sort of person who chooses a wife cos she's punctual.

Yes £40K well spent. Raises the value of the house. Thus an appreciating asset - the only sort I deal with.

Haven't owned it long enough to have any problems, but got it fully checked out before hand. Make sure you go for the panoramic roof too, very nice. ..

As for performance there's little difference, the M3 is a pretty awesome car. My mates 911 turbo S (+100bhp of upgrades) is way faster than the SL point to point. The SL is a bit of a compromise between performance and touring comfort (+ gadgets etc) which suits me.

              What you got just now?

I can just imagine you in your Merc, water sloshing around the boot.
                But that's OK its German.

I'd keep expensive fish in the boot.

Seriously mate you need to check the latest gen of Jap cars - I agree styling has hitherto been tulip but they're wising up now and hiring the best Western designers.
They've always had better engineering integrity than the Krauts.
