Have you tried looking in Southsea?Originally posted by MB99 View PostJust got a new gig working for I*M in Portsmouth, office is at North Harbour. Anybody worked there and do they have any good B&Bs/Hotels etc to recommend? How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

I know a good B&B near Havant, the Meadow View (formerly the Cripple Creak guest house). But it's probably a good 20 minute drive to Portsmouth, or longer in rush hour traffic, and there's no point commuting as well as B&Bing it.
The owner originally called it the Cripple Creak after himself, as he had a tin leg following a motorbike accident some years ago. But his wife persuaded him to rename it the Meadow View.Work in the public sector? Read the IR35 FAQ hereComment

I don't know much about Portsmouth... but if Rickshaws is still in existance, give it a try, especially if you haven't tried mongolian food before. If your company is the best place to work in, for a mere £500 p/d, you can advertise here.Comment

If your working in Northarbour, it will take you about 25 minutes in rush hour to get into the centre of Pompey, mainly due to the weight of Traffic on the M275.
Your best bet would be to find somewhere in either Portchester, where I live, or Cosham, meaning you'll be 5 minutes away from work.Last edited by Weltchy; 22 October 2009, 09:19.Comment

Also, there are two cheap hotels within walking distance of Northarbour. The first is the Marriott, which is a pretty standard hotel with swimming pool, etc. The second is I think the Tulip Inn, the other side of the Harbour Lights pub, next to the Marriott. The IBIS is a cheap, no frills hotel.
Eating wise, you have Gunwharf in Portsmouth, which has loads of restaurants. Plus you have Port Solent which is five minutes from Northarbour by car. Loads of places to eat there.Last edited by Weltchy; 22 October 2009, 09:37.Comment
