The guy was running before he even got to the crossing and would have seen what was coming had he looked. I can't quite see whether the car that was hit from behind managed to steer away from the runner (which likely saved his life) or whether the car was just shunted that way by luck. He did have the presence of mind to operate his windscreen wipers though.

When I saw the bus smashing through the cars all I could think of was "this is what GTA V will look like"


Still very very lucky escape. There was a similar one in the US with some bloke jumping over the bonnet of a car that was careering towards him.
