We now have 3 bins, all made from heavy duty plastic which will take eons to degrade let alone being made from bucketfulls of oil. The latest addition is a slops bucket to contain food waste. The maggots and foxes will have a field day.

      Just a thought....

Why don't they tax us less if we recycle more?

I read on some fanatics' website once, www.newscientist.com, IIRC, that paper bags are more environmentally unfriendly than plastic ones, but public perception is t'other way round.

Don't you get provided with a large, lockable food waste container in addition to the small slops bucket?

I think 'slops bucket' was over-egging the pudding. I haven't paid much attention as 'er in doors' does the food waste recycling but we do have a mini-me version of a green wheelie bin outside for stuff to be tipped into. I wonder if 'little people' come and take it away in a tiny truck.
