A friend of mine who works in climate research in the States recently announced he wasn't going to have children because of their potential carbon foot print.

Ok, yes, part of climate change is man made, however natural variability is still a stronger signal.

Can you just clarify whether there is any particular difference between "man-made climate change" and "natural climate change" vis-a-vis the actual outcome when it finally takes hold and people start starving and drowning and so on?
