What's wrong with generalising a culture? A racist assumes that because someone is black, say, that they MUST behave and think a certain way.
That is clearly unintelligent.
On the other hand is it racist that the Met has a unit to investigate "black-on-black" gun crime because it is so prevalent?

Or is saying that most Muslims have what I would call primitive attitudes to female emancipation make me a racist? White or black female converts are meant to cover up too as are brown ones. So which race am I being racist to?

How to attach value to a culture.

Westeners have a culture that creates wealth, that provides health and social security infrastructures and that allows for cultural diversity. But we also involve ourselves in empire building, in mechanized wars in foreign lands and have done a pretty good job of negatively impacting on our environment.

Australian Aboriginals (longest unbroken culture on the planet) produce nothing (in our terms) but have not killed in the millions nor have they lived in a manner that is contradictory to their environment.

So which culture has more value SG/King Of The World?

It may be that Aboriginal culture is superior if we take long term adapation to our environemnt into account.
But therein lies my point - we have made a value judgement by looking at the world in a certain way.
Eventually we have to judge on somne criteria.
