And that's the first time I've found something about that film to laugh over.

Company I work for (I'm in the Middle East) import stuff from UK manufacturers of resins/glass/metal fabrications/industrial adhesives/engineering software/labels/electronics. Mainly specialised products; bog standard material comes in from India, China etc.

I think it depends on the definition of "exports", which can include services
Most of the stats that Britain is a big exporter includes all the trillions made by the City (), with the figures being pre-credit-crunch / bailouts.

I know about arms and pharmaceuticals.

I'm half way through a programme on Tweed manufacturing presented as part of the Beeb's recent Scotland series. Since Tweed is one of the products that the US shoves hefty import tariffs on every time they decide to throw their toys out of the pram I thought it might be interesting to watch this.

Two factories going full tilt and a third one temporarily closed (I haven't got to the "why" of it closing yet - Sharon Stone was seeking my attention).

Having grown up in a textile area where almost every hamlet had a mill or two, I find this depressing.
Behold the warranty -- the bold print giveth and the fine print taketh away.

            education

Education is worth more to UK exports than financial services or the automotive industry

UK is in the top ten livestock exporting countries, I believe.
