    Interesting Find

Hi...I was trawling the following website, when I came upon this curious entry

New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Trade

    Italy

Italy is a potential target for international terrorist attack. Security measures in and around major tourist attractions, including the Vatican, on public transport services, including airports and seaports, remain at a heightened level. Travellers are urged to maintain a high level of personal security at all times, to be vigilant in public places, tourist sites and at large events, including sporting events. Avoid demonstrations. (what demonstrations ?)

I expected to see all the usual hotspots there, including UK, USA and Spain...but Italy ?????

    Hmmmm.....
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

It might be something to do with the 3000 Italian troops that were sent to Iraq.

it's probably a warning for women travellers, expect to be chatted up, leered at, whistled at, comments of "que bellissima signorina mama mia!" coming from all over the place, which one should not confuse with terrorist-like behaviour, very useful warning in my opinion....

      Where's Franco?
      Chico, what time is it?
