    'Conventional wisdom' as stated by CUK posters - ie this thread - last month it was the ludicrous notion that the USA was to collapse in September.

    As Richard Branson correctly stated in Jan the recovery started last December so CNBC is still behind - but CUK is even further behind.

    And I dont watch CNBC.

    And I dont visit here as much as I used to.

      Most companies are not in the prime of health right now, in whatever way you measure them.
      So what's driving this illogical and irrational boom in the markets?
      I can only conclude its QE money from the banks.

      But something must give - and I can't tell what that is. We really are in uncharted territory here.

        The US is collapsing, as is the dollar. Timescales were a little impatient, but it's happening.

          I think it is highly indicative that the Dow is approaching 10000 - a figure only previously reached AFAIK in 1999 and 2007/8(?) i.e. at the peak of some very frothy booms.
