In practical terms - hasn't it always been that you can be detained 'for the good of society'? (whatever the hell that means)
One can be sectioned but only if one has a diagnosis of a mental disorder that can be treated.

I said detained not sectioned. The rules are a bit different but is the affect on the person?

I don't know btw. If they can't section you, they'd just use the Terrorism Act anyway.

'They' only need three doctors that are willing to section someone and that is it. Easy enough to find them. There was a case at the weekend where a doctor was told by the Libyans that "three months would be helpful" and he agreed.

Doctors / Police - don't trust either of the frakers.
How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

We should celebrate people who do not fit into the norm, this nation was built by such people.

Absolutely. If the world was filled with people who were asinine and neutral then it'd be very, very boring.
