The point I was trying to make was that Christianity, as opposed to any other religion, appears to be becoming irrelevant whilst other religions are rising to prominence. At the kids school there are no hymns at assembley and no Christmas Carols - not because religion is considered inappropriate but because Christianity is considered inappropriate. I find this a very worrying trend.

For the first time in yonks attendance at church is going up with more young people in the UK now doing an Alpha Course.

I think you will find the upsurge in attendance at the Alpha Course is for the free Curry!

As Tony Benn said "Celebrity is the new religion".
I remember the good old days of this site when people used to moan about serious contractor related issues like house prices and immigration. How times have changed!?

I like the Alpha Course, they pay me to put their advertising up for them. Never knew what it is about though

Indeed, it says in the bible that "thou shalt not watch pop idols"...so there.

It's a weird cult that believes the world will end in 1999 and everyone will be forced to live on the moon.

The great thing about believing in God is that if there is not one or several for that matter, then when you die you will never be the wiser.

God is a concept By which we measure our pain ...

                      Christianity will go.

                      It will vanish and shrink.

I needn't argue with that; I'm right and I will be proved right. We're more popular than Jesus now; I don't know which will go first - rock and roll or Christianity.
