    ??

You either have a lounge the size of a football pitch or you're very messy.

I think the dust collection cylinder is no smaller than a standard vac, maybe they just collect more?
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

See above - mine is 7 years old and still going strong.

That's always true of any vacuum cleaner. It's what door-to-door vacuum cleaner salesman rely on: any new vacuum cleaner picks up stuff an old one won't.

Miele is tops for us though I do not like the use of the bag.
Best suction, small and practically indestructible. Expensive.
After about ten years the automatic cable wrap does not work but that can be fixed.

Dyson, we have had two and are fed up with all of the bits that break off.
Good suction but does decrease in strength as the dust hold get filled.
                Heavy and expensive.

I used to have one of the ones where you could also suck up liquids. Used to use on the cat litter tray, ashtrays, dirty plates, the kitchen sink, motorbike parts, in fact anything that needed cleaning. Worked excellently but emptying it was pretty gruesome. Got a Siemens now which seems to do the job, well actually I never use it as I don't like the smell vacuum cleaners make. Some friends reckon the new Dirt Devils are pretty good as well
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

The dust collection cylinder is a bit smaller. My old vac was a bit rubbish and I've got two cats - that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it
