Dyson

Yes absolutely go for it (and the prepare for the embarassment of emptying the bloody thing four times before you have finished the living room)

??

You either have a lounge the size of a football pitch or you're very messy.:tongue

I think the dust collection cylinder is no smaller than a standard vac, maybe they just collect more?

We have a Dyson DC24 All Floors and the dust collection cylinder is tiny.

Its the wife 2nd dyson and she really rates it

WSS - I was horrified when I first used mine... the old vac was tulip in comparission!

Mrs PL has been using ours for 7 years without problems.

I of course have no opinion.

The house didn't need hoovering before she moved in.:freaky:

Yep have mine for about 7 years too

Buy a Henry , reliable sturdy cheap and go on for ever , you can even have a hetty if you want a female vac , or a george if you want a wet / dry one.

British made as well unlike Dyson which is mostly manufactured in China and last about a year if your lucky

See above - mine is 7 years old and still going strong.

I think mine is a DC04 :o It's old!!

Miele is tops for us though I do not like the use of the bag.
Best suction, small and practically indestructible. Expensive.
After about ten years the automatic cable wrap does not work but that can be fixed.

Dyson, we have had two and are fed up with all of the bits that break off.
Good suction but does decrease in strength as the dust hold get filled.
Heavy and expensive.

I used to have one of the ones where you could also suck up liquids. Used to use on the cat litter tray, ashtrays, dirty plates, the kitchen sink, motorbike parts, in fact anything that needed cleaning. Worked excellently but emptying it was pretty gruesome. Got a Siemens now which seems to do the job, well actually I never use it as I don't like the smell vacuum cleaners make. Some friends reckon the new Dirt Devils are pretty good as well

The dust collection cylinder is a bit smaller. My old vac was a bit rubbish and I've got two cats - that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it :p
