No the exact opposite. We would all get a bit heavier as the earth spinning has the opposite effect to gravity.

Maybe Rebecca might like to reconsider her suggestion in light of the fact she would instantly add a few pounds...

Stopping the earth itself would of course also cause much fun and amusement:

What would happen if an impact caused Earth to stop rotating?

The sun, moon and stars revolve round the Earth. The Earth is the centre of the universe.

thats all very well but will my penis get bigger?

Penis size is much like your rate - it can never be big enough...

            Older and ...well, just older!!

It all sounded pretty reasonable until they threw this fact in from nowhere:

"A fireball would expand outward destroying material in it's path and polluting the rest of the atmosphere."

              A fireball?

I think thats something to do with the title What would happen if an impact caused Earth to stop rotating?, since that is about the only thing imaginable which could stop the earths rotation.

He was going back in time. When you are as fast as fcku like Superman you can do that.

He didn't make the earth go round backwards though. We were observing in Superman's time continuum, not the Earth's.
