I suspect that for you younger members IT is all you have known.

There are others to whom the IT industry became a magnet some ways into their working lives so have had an alternative career to look back on.
How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think

Yep. I spent several very happy but skint years dry stone walling for the National Trust

That's my problem. I'm only 58 so I haven't had time to do anything else.

respectable income. Even a bog-standard wedding photographer is expensive, and you can do a few a week (more than one a day if you're organised I guess).

              Medicine.

It's what I was aiming for in the first place so it's hardly going to be a major change.

It's a thankless job and you will never satisfy the client.

There is no second chance on taking the important photos and they all think they should look like supermodels. You really need an assistant who can round up the various unpleasnt family members and bully them into standing where you want them for long enough to take the snaps.

Top tip: If it's a church wedding, pop around and meet the vicar a week or so before. A nice bottle of something or "contribution to the parish" can mean easy access to the signing of the registry bit.

You've done this before, I take it. Or know someone who has.
wedding photography's about the worst way of earning cash with a camera, I'd sooner be working on commercial or fashion anyday. A million times less stress.

I would have gone for GP or specialist and worked my bollocks off for it.
