Tsk. What's the point of releasing these things into the wild if they're just going to run off? Give them an inch and they'll take a mile. -
Oh bugger I like beavers
I'm sorry, but I'll make no apologies for this

That is the great thing about rural Scotland, you hear gunshots and you only mention it when someone asks you have you seen the beavers recently "na, no beavers, but I did hear a few shots fired the other day"
Farmers are poisoning wild eagles all the time so beaver is just a big rat to them.Comment

The Telegraph his new lows - again!
From the Telegraph article:Originally posted by minestrone View PostThat is the great thing about rural Scotland, you hear gunshots and you only mention it when someone asks you have you seen the beavers recently "na, no beavers, but I did hear a few shots fired the other day"
Farmers are poisoning wild eagles all the time so beaver is just a big rat to them.
So they've jumped to conclusions for the sake of a headline."We suspect that the noise from the shooting has disturbed these animals even if no direct link between the shooting and disappearance is found."
The standard of reporting at the Telegraph hits new lows yet again.Behold the warranty -- the bold print giveth and the fine print taketh away.Comment
