The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.
But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.” -

2 before that made me sit tests (and 1 did also ask for my degree certificates). I've nearly always worked in manufacturing so maybe the industry's Cinderella status reflects the comparative lack of background checking. Maybe people are less likely to exaggerate for such modest returns. I enjoy the environment and as a consequence accept its not so well paid.Comment

The day companies don't:
- lie on their job specs
- specify skills that will never be used
- pretend a support role is a development role
- claim a 20 year old legacy project will require knowledge of C#, Java and .net
...is the day I will produce a completely truthful CV'Orwell's 1984 was supposed to be a warning, not an instruction manual'. -

If I want to change my CV, I get the courses, exams and experience first.
It's called Continual Professional Development, don't y'know...."I can put any old tat in my sig, put quotes around it and attribute to someone of whom I've heard, to make it sound true."

My current one did, I think they're getting more savvy these days..."I can put any old tat in my sig, put quotes around it and attribute to someone of whom I've heard, to make it sound true."
