EO Posted : Am I the only one who thinks the whole sockpuppet idea is rotten ?
No, I also think the same as well.

I'm rather ashamed to admit that about 3 years ago, I created a sockie, but after about 3 posts, it just felt morally wrong and weird to pretend to be someone else, especially when other people wasted their time replying to his posts.

I thought to myself, this ain't right and it's morally dubious at the least. Borderline Schizophrenia at the worst.

So I let it lapse and I've played fair and honest ever since. This is my only account that I use.

And I'm quite happy for the Mods to confirm this if asked. (ie...it's not a double bluff or anything of that calibre. I'm above that sort of chicanery. Also, thinking ahead, if I ever create another sockie (which I won't), I give permission for the Mods to announce it immediately.)

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Horrible though It may sound, I do believe Chico was real.

I did socks on occasions but could never resist the urge to totally ham it up, there was some women who kept growing bum cheeks, a mad Muslim and a poor black guy fro' de Mississipi Delta who kep on sayin' praise de lawd. Why he was posting on CUK I have no idea.

            Morally wrong? What dat?

I find the current rash of sockpuppets thoroughly boring.

Mind you I'll never understand why people make sockpuppets when their prime ID is already an alias.

I'd be quite happy to see them all banned along with a temp ban for their owners.

RC posted : And I feel so much better getting that off my chest.
Joking aside, that's not funny and I don't appreciate another poster pretending to be me, or trying to mislead others by doing so.

And Xog...the "Praise De Lawd" dude was funny and quite obviously you, as you had used the phrase under your own login somewhere IIRC.

                  I see a recurring theme.

BGG, cheer up. CUK isn't real life.

If we're pissing you off so much by having a laugh, go and do some work. Or have a holiday. Or something.

Do you all think it would be a good idea to tax sockpuppets?

The exchequer is urgently in need of some new revenue streams.
