I see what you did there.

It does provide an unsubscribe link at the bottom of the mail, yes. The process is this

          Identify ideal customer.
Make lists of companies matching this profile.
Call them, try and speak with head of IT.
Get email address, and promise to email him / her some details or
Get email address from receptionist (or colleague) and promise to email him / her some details.
Enter the details into SugarCRM as a lead.
Create mailing list daily based on leads and email them.
Follow up with phone call (3 strikes and their not interested)
          Repeat

I'm likely to have to start similar letters soon, maybe even producing brochures and stuff. One issue is, who are you targetting? Many companies who want software developed aren't in IT themselves, so this can greatly affect the kind of language you need to use.
Why not, I'm game. Maybe it will inspire folks on here, and maybe those in the know can gently critique my first draft.

              Initial contact letter

              Dear Name of IT Manager,

May I take a few moments of your time to introduce my company, MyCo IT Ltd? We are a small IT Consultancy based in MyTown, established in 2007.

Our aim is to work with companies in the local area to provide good value IT services, in the Business Systems field. If you are thinking about the next step, and if improvements can be made, or if your systems are proving to be too high maintenance we would love to talk to you.

Our main strengths lie in Systems Integration and Bespoke Application development. More and more businesses are thinking in terms of business processes and aligning their IT with them, and not the other way around. A company with robust automated processes will always outperform a more manually process based competitor. Automation does not have to be expensive either!

If you would like a consultant to call you, please drop us a line at :

              http://www.myco-it.co.uk/contact

and we can arrange to come and see you at a convenient time.

There are big benefits in working with a local firm, so if we don't hear from you we hope it will be ok to call you in a few days to see if we can be of service.

              Thanks for your time.

              Yours sincerely,
Knock first as I might be balancing my chakras.

                      I hate cold calling.

                      1. No
                      2. No
                      3. Fob off

I'm only three calls in and I'm totally demoralised.
