Just heard him say on the radio that he would saw his own arm off in a press conference if council tax went up 20% (when asked by a journo if such a rise was likely).

20% is a lot, but I'd happily pay it.

I thought that some councils had proposed rises in the region of 30%+...?

I do hope one of them is in London... and populated by 'ethnic minorities' who want to build religious schools and mosques with the money....
