Oh dear. Explanations are so hard.

Zippy expressed concern me getting a gig would reduce my additions to the "currently drinking" thread and asked you when you would start doing them. There was some clarification about 'them' being beer reviews and you suggested today would be your start date.

    I was alluding to that.

So, no, you don't need to have done any beer reviews, the 'humour' was in the implication that you will have been sufficiently time-benched by today that you will be resorting to sitting up all night drinking and drivelling on here.

              You or the spider?

The spider descended at an angle from the corner of the ceiling where I had decided to let it live (wrongly). I saw it when is abseiled diagonally across my field of view between face and screen: nearer nose than monitor and just above the back of my left hand.

So I grabbed a piece of paper to catch it and it managed to escape to either in my beer, my keyboard or under the laptop or somewhere else.

                I searched in vain.

Being the kind-hearted, wouldn't-hurt-a-fly kind of person I am, I decided to let it be and go to bed. Nothing at all to do with being scared of a 1cm long spider, oh no. I even decided to stay in bed to make sure it had got the message that it was free to roam elsewhere.

And during the night, my desktop PC died. This morning it was humming away, no image. Rebooting results in silence except for the fans. Hey ho.

I reckon the spider sabotaged it...

Good job my email is on the laptop, not the desktop, otherwise I'd never find out about this damn gig.

Did I say you never hear from agents on a Monday? I had three separate calls yesterday (admittedly one was directly from a client)! I wonder if the fact they were all overseas based had anything to do with it. So, the market may well be beginning to stir.

                    DAILY GIG NEWS: UPDATE

I phoned the agent about this gig at 9:40. "Errm, uh, oh! She's not in yet, can I take a message?" It's now 10:10. She's not going to call, is she?

The landlady has put the house up for sale. There's a viewing in a couple of hours. I suppose I'd better go and get dressed.
