Got a 4 inch reflector here, a bit on the cheap side but perfect for looking at the Moon. Living in the country has its advantages, no light pollution.

Makes a great end to a barbecue getting the telescope out and watching the jaws drop. Saturn's rings and Jupiter's moons are always a hit.

Can you see the Jovian ring? I've a friend who works at JPL who gave me some great images of it.

Not with the kit I have at the moment. Planning to upgrade to a better telescope with a motor drive, makes it easier track objects as well as find them.

My moon is beautiful, as is my ring.

Would that be one of Saturns 53 odd moons - there is one which is orbiting embeded withing the Rings of Saturn - Daphnis - as I recall.

Huygens - the Dutch Astronomer discovered Titan - he was an interesting chap.

Then again - if you cant see the Sun - maybe we need to go further from the Sun ... perhaps the moon named Mab which is part of the Ring System of Uranus - could be a candidate - I think that was discovered around 2003 ... of course take it another level ... Pluto has rings - and three Moons ...

not at all, in my imagination, it is a long , long , long way away. in all directions.
and the people chide themselves, 'just because everyone else dreams, I dream. but one day I will get out of this, break away from the herd , un-settle down and become materialistic. maybe.'

Well EO maybe it was the Moon - Mab... that youve seen in your dreams,

If I ever get out of here
Thought of giving it all away

                  FootNotes

I read with interest some debate as to the wonder of our Heavenly Bodies and the possible existence of God, I recall watching a marvellous interview with one of the Apollo 11 crew - .

Even as I stood on the Moon ..so far from Earth ...where all I had known as home ... was now distant ...
As I looked into the vastness of the Cosmos ,,, I was aware of an Unseen Love - I was not alone.

... imagine ...an Unseen Love ... beyond our comprehension.

                  ... we are not alone.

It's a world where the dog eats the dog
Where they kill for bones in the street
                      And God in His Heaven
                      He don't interfere
'Cause he's dead as the stiffs at my feet
I raise my eyes to see the heavens
And only the moon looks down
                      The harvest moon shines down!
