I'm just pointing out ironic facts. If you are incapable of processing them then hard luck with the brain you were given.
If England had won the series 4-1, getting 500 in every innings, except in the test they lost where they were only slightly beaten, I'm sure you could still find a fact to rubbish their series win.

So why dig up facts when it is clear to all (including Ricky Ponting) that England were the deserving winners of the series.

Well done England, I certainly didn't see that coming. Nice to see the aussies lose 3 test series in a short space of time. Some random thoughts...

          1) How on earth do Eng lose to the WI and then beat the Aussies? They need to learn to travel better and win away from home.

          2) Yes, enjoy the win but don't let it hide the fact that Eng are not even rated in the top 5 in the ICC world rankings. There is loads of work to do.

          3) Aus won in SA before this series. Was that a fluke or are SA not as good as their new no 1 test cricket ranking suggests?

          4) Well done Andrew Strauss. Has done well from a captaincy and performance perspective since taking over.

          5) Enjoy the retirement Freddie. Career stats for me hint at un unfulfilled talent. Talk of being al all-time 'great' and comparison with the likes of Kallis et al is laughable.

          6) Good thing I didn't put my money where my mouth was....

WHS, let's hope this is start of a long and successful captaincy.

              Yeahh hah!!

I predicted 2 - 1 to England at the begining of the series but enjoying to much wine to find the post now.

              Port next !!

Ironically (for a game with an obsession for stats), I think the stats don't tell the whole Flintoff story.

His value to the team doesn't always come from his performances, but from his talismanic legend. It's not what he does every match (the Oval), it's the thought of what he might do (Lords) that gives immense value to the team.

That said, I still wouldn't class him as a all-time great.
