Perhaps more than 5 seconds, but by the time it takes to move from the machine where I do an account transfer to the cash dispenser 2 metres away, it's there.

But yes, 10 years ago I lobbed a large cheque into a UK bank, paying a tenner for express clearance. In spite of that tenner, they tried to claim that a cheque took over 5 working days to clear "properly". They were just trying to hang onto my money.

Nearly dead AJP I'm afraid, you want to get into that new fangled TCP/IP stuff.

mainframe n. An obsolete device still used by thousands of obsolete companies serving billions of obsolete customers and making huge obsolete profits for their obsolete shareholders. And this year's run twice as fast as last year's.
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

        Aye Da

Hows the Golden Fasse these days ?

        TCPip I did ages ago.

The rage is this new fangled VNP stuff , for those who dont know this is the new killer Vector Network Protocol courtesy of Pruffock Vector Systems.

For those fortunate enough to have VNP experience rates are silly, about 90 pounds per hour in the city.

Look out for the VNP course schedule starting from a mere 4370 guineas plus VAT from Pruffock Vector Management Consultantcy (c).

Amazing the things you can learn from this site ...

I prefer VPLs.... commonly seen on Friday and Saturday nights in clubs such as Revolution and Espionage in Edinburgh.

I think there is significant traffic passing through such portals after consumption of sufficient quantities of Vodka WKDs....
