I am sick to death of him.
He quite possibly has something to say but he has spouted so much bull that it is impossible to know what is truth and what is crap.

I am sick to death of having the same argument with him. He brings up the same point again and again and point blank refuses to accept substantial evidence that says he is wrong. The thread dies and then he starts a new one and we go round the loop again and again.

I dont mind people with entrenched views, but even the most stubborn will normaly accept 3 or 4 links to seperate sources that show their opinion is at odds with the accepted opinion is enough for them to modify their stance a bit.

I do not know how many times we have to ask him to modify his stance by proving he is wrong.
I have had differences of opinion with a number of posters on here but I hope that I have not been so insistant and have accepted that I may be wrong.

For sure, if Snaw, SAS and I are aligned then there must be a reasonable case for us.
I am not qualified to give the above advice!

      I'm not proud.

My opinion is that moderators have been too little involved in actual "moderation", limiting their action only when there might have been some legal circumstances. They believed too much in the self regulating power of individuals. Like with markets it lasted a while and yes, CUK was a great place for everybody , really the best forum I have ever seen in my life. Great people, great ideas, great information. Then bullying started to take place, overinflated egos and penis-size competitions were everyday things. The atmosphere soon became unbearable. Some aficionados are still here but only in memory of the good times. I am sorry dear moderators, free markets and free forums do not work.
I've seen much of the rest of the world. It is brutal and cruel and dark, Rome is the light.

Making up references is always a good strategy. I find that if you say "recent research shows that..." followed by a complete invention nobody ever questions it.

PS If I use that phrase in future and anyone challenges it I shall deny this post ever existed.

that's nice coming from the arch whinger, francko! you used to complain at the slightest moderation that was carried out, iirc.

forums come and forums go. you're right, this is a good forum and will continue to be so. but you seem to think that a forum has an intrinsic nature in and of itself. that is not the case. it merely reflects the preponderance of opinion which prevails at any given time. there is a core of members which hasn't changed very much, and others, who come and go. the core membership is too small to have much impact on the general tenor of the forum and so it is the transient population which has the greater effect. and thus of course, the effect itself is transient.

howsoever you perceive the forum, that will change.

anyway, it's just a forum. we all have real lives to get on with...don't we?

I can't see it has really changed all that much. I personally recall some hostile exchanges in the "good old days" with the likes of that Irish Gerry idiot and Dodgy over hunting although I agree with him on most else. We have had numerous villains who eventually got banned, and major feuds just like the Snaw/Cyber one although can't recall their names now.

'xactly. in fact, i'd say it has been relatively quiet [from a mods pov] this past few months.

Perhaps I don't read a lot a lot of Cyberman's posts because my impression of him has been that in the main he responds politely to criticism and personal attacks.

                      Very polite that one.

Read many of his laughing at others misfortune posts? The not so funny kind of laughig ones?

Or innumerable posts where he makes wild statements of fact, gets proved wrong then completely ignores it?
