I'm quite happy for MPs to have several jobs. End of the day, if they mess up in the day job we can vote them out. If the HofC is full of idiots, logically that's our fault.

Most of the current stock should not be allowed to have more than zero jobs including being a MP.How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

Yes.
In fact, it should be a prerequisite.
There are too many of the idle sods there, who have never done an honest days work, ran a small business, or headed up a company.
You've come right out the other side of the forest of irony and ended up in the desert of wrong.

I think this is such a stupid and dangerous move. It is moronic career politicians who haven't a friggin' clue how things work in the real world who screw things up.Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God? - EpicurusComment

At least Tories are clever enough to get a second job rather than totally sponging off of the state while driving it to ruin.

True - whilst a large number of pols seem to have left college, gone straight into politics and thus never held a job it'd be good if they had a "real" job alongside their being an MP (in much the same way that councillors do).Comment
