I've never been grumpy in my life as I enjoy life too much for that. I would contract again if the circumstances were right, but I am just not going to spend my valuable time every day looking for jobs that simply do not exist, or competing for work paying a pittance. I will bide my time until the market picks up.

I'm with the Lone Gunman, after 2 years of contracting and suffering rate drops in the recession I'm pretty much decided I should be chasing a £75,000ish permie Head of IT/Director position and not worry about accountants/invoicing/alienation etc.

In a way I'd be happy to go back to the days of reading Computer Weekly on the bog and having a relatively stress free existence surfing the T'Internet, even at the cost of being drawn back into company bulltulip with politics etc. ...
