Emotions swung back and forth thoughout. At one stage it looked a bit like men against boys ( Vickery will have nightmares re "the beast" for some time ") but Adam Jones changed things just after the break.

Lions droppped the pill 3 times over the try-line so things could have been very different. Still, happy to win as we looked rusty and should be better and fitter next week.

Oh and CM, 0-4 for the irishman and counting

What utter tulip! Hammer the cannon fodder teams but fall at the first when they come up against quality. Pathetic.
I couldn't give two fornicators! Yes, really!

The front five were poor today - didn't turn up. Vickery got mangled and the 60 meter rolling maul was an embarrasment, POC and AWJ were anonymous, Heaslip very quiet as well. Croft, Wallace and Jenkins the pick of the forwards. On the plus side the backs were great and its good to see they kept some new backline moves for this game.. plus we might have won it if not for two exceptional try saving tackles.

Can you see the Lions coming back to win the series?

Unlikely. Altitude will add to the difficulties.

But will SA choke like their cricketers always do?

That and the fact that on current evidence they just aren't good enough

The best world cup record in the game says the rugby team doesn't choke.

                  Indeed... except to the Lions.

well i cant see the boks making so many changes at the same time, on the other hand cant see the lions playing so poorly in the first half again either

As front row forward myself not going to get involved in the vickery/beast discussion, just that some days things dont go your way

Anyhow Lions to win the 2nd test by 6pts, 1-1 going up the last with a series win to the lions with vickery destroying the beast!

One day your the pidgeon, the next day your the statue
