Just two agencies approached me last week; better than the previous week when only 1 called (resulted in an interview tho). This bench is getting really worn down...

              Seems to be getting better

Seems to be getting better. Tube strike last week seemed to slow things up.

Been pretty flat in my area of testing for the last couple of months, at least at rates that would be worth working for, seen quite a few jobs paying equivalent or less than a permy roll, already had a gig in the bag to it didn't affect me to much but got 2 other offers this week from previous clients to I guess it must be picking u
Some people are like slinkys, totally pointless but the thought of pushing them down a flight of stairs never fails to put a smile on your face.

Its clearly different depending on your skills - I had 4 calls this week, as well as an interview based on a call I received the previous week (no news yet - I am guessing they've offered it to another candidate and are waiting to hear if he/she accepts).

I am in management of application development / support. Do we need a poll each week to chalk up calls for each skill-set?

Looking very positive for me with a role, think it's just a face to face and I am in, going direct as well. Was intending to take the rest of the summer off and watch the cricket but I was getting a bit worried that there would not be anything going when I wanted something. Word of mouth for this one and a personal recommendation from someone I have worked with on several gigs.

Ive had 4 real roles that Ive sounded out in the last 6 days all wanting a ASAP start.
It's annoying, I keep seeing contracts that have my skillset of SQL, SSIS,SSRS,SSAS,VB,.Net, but I don't have any ASAP skills, and I can't even learn it on the job because they all want to start off with the ASAP work.
