You will find entire floors dedicated to hundreds of ICT bods in many major companies. Imagine all those contracts lost by british contractors. We should support PCG , who seem to be raising this issue.

Don't be a twat. This is an example of a thread debating outsourcing without recall to racism.

... for nearly ten years and achived - almost nothing.

Forget it; this battle has been lost.
How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

I think the battle was lost years ago in a different industry.

The IT industry is going the same way as shipbuilding in this country. Asian shipbuilders used to come up the Clyde with cameras taking photos of how we built ships and everyone just laughed, 20 years later and they had taken the entire industry.

Anyway, must plough on with Plan B.

and not a single lesson learned apparently. But its OK, we can all reskill and carry on as normal according to GB and others.

You keep trotting out this tired old mantra - what are you, New Labour or something?

Apart from anything else, we have a points-based skills immigration system because PCG made it happen. Shame that NL are so incompetent at drafting legislation they left a nice big hole in it to allow for specialist requirements - such as .NET and SQL - that the existing onsite offshore teams suddenly discover they need.

So no problem, I wonder who is going to raise that one with HMG... you?

                  I'm a sad a bitter old man.

However, I'm trying to move on. As part of bitter/moving on I built a Plan B and took it abroad so now Hector gets 100% of nothing.

I still ponce off the UK health care system though.
