Too true, supermarket clothes for the kids (they don't need to last) M&S for mummy and daddy.Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson -

Kitekat or Smart price Katkins?Originally posted by swamp View PostMany brands are worth paying for. Others aren't, and in other cases the difference is too small to care about. Some examples:
Sainsbury's Yeast Extract vs Marmte? Marmite.
Hugo Boss vs Gap? Usually Hugo Boss for me, but mainly as their clothes will fit properly.
Cheapo dishwasher vs Bosch? My cheapo dishwasher has now broken; buy cheap and you'll buy twice.
BMW vs Ford? Very complex discussion, but I like a nice motor.
Budget fleece or The North Face technical expedition layer? Budget.
Ibuprofen vs Neurofen? Neurofen
Scientists have proved the placebo effect can be 'worth' paying for!Knock first as I might be balancing my chakras.Comment

Or indeed a Cav.Originally posted by sasguru View PostWrong. That just makes you a chav.
Mind you, there was a programme on Dutch telly at the weekend where they visited Champagne and looked at the production standards; some Champage houses are using grapes from second rate vineyards that don’t face the sun and they put in all sorts of additives to improve the flavour. On their visit to Spain they found that standards for Cava were somewhat higher in terms of grape selection and additives. And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? I used to like buying champagne until one day I was in a restaurant celebrating someone's birthday. £150 for some ordinary Champagne (£15 in Tesco) or £25 for chav bubbly. Chav stuff was excellent, and I resolved then and there to avoid paying for champagne.Originally posted by sasguru View PostWrong. That just makes you a chav.Cats are evil.Comment

Given the veracity of your previous claims, I'm beginning to get the impression that you're an impoverished gay jaffa living in a council studio flat on a sink estate in Swindon.Originally posted by DimPrawn View PostI've filled a large MPV and need a mini bus now.Hard Brexit now!
