    Maybe I'm still fat??

Well, it happens but it's bollocks that you are 'more healthy' if you're 'less fat'.

I lost 4 stone 3 years back (and kept it off) because I know it happens and the market was getting very tight.

Never had a day off sick in the preceding 10 years+.
Off sick the 3rd time in those 3 years today.

Still having trouble in interviews though, can't think why:

      Isn't that "living in denial"?
His heart is in the right place - shame we can't say the same about his brain...

Personal experience shows I am not as healthy now as I was.

However I also know I am far more likely to get the gig now because of flawed perceptions favouring the new slimmed down me.

Snag is if you slim drastically over a certain age your skin sags and wrinkles, and you start looking as old as Methusaleh. Take Nigel Lawson for example, a former tory chancellor - After he suddenly went on a diet a few years ago and lost two or three stone he looked like a bassett hound!

I think you will find most businesses of today employ people on individual merit.

If the IPD are intent on employing people due to girth size, then it's them that have a problem and need to be educated. To55ers.

I've never met anyone in HR that added "value" to the business. In fact, all they seem to do is cause discord and strife. Ironic really !

HR are a convenient barrier for gutless and incompetent managers to hide behind, so they don't have to face the troops head on.
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Well, being fat never stopped the Teletubbies from getting picked for their tv role.

But it is stopping Gordon Brown from being PM. If Gordon could lose 100 percent of his body weight, I'm sure we'd all be a lot happier.
