How old is it?
Red ring of death faults are now covered by a 3 year warranty, apparently it cost MS $1 billion to cover this.
The usual game stores sell refurbed units for less than £100 I think.Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson -
It's abiut 18 months and it's gone off warranty. Bloody thing has been a right pain, it's been back to Germany 3 times.Originally posted by gingerjedi View PostHow old is it?

I could use the sale of goods act but can't find the original receipt any more. I'm tempted to wait until there is a package of a standard unit in Game with a couple of games he hasn't got and buy him that.Comment

But if it's a red ring fault it should be covered if it's only 18 months old?Originally posted by ASB View PostIt's abiut 18 months and it's gone off warranty. Bloody thing has been a right pain, it's been back to Germany 3 times.

I need to check that out, it disappeared from the xbox live website - and I assumed it was because it was out of warranty. I'll have to dig it all out again and try and schedule a repair (again!).Originally posted by gingerjedi View PostBut if it's a red ring fault it should be covered if it's only 18 months old?Comment
